CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PRECAUTIONS: EXECUTION & BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS IN TURKEY ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL 30 APRIL 2020
The Presidential Decree No. 2279 on the Suspension of Execution and Bankruptcy Proceedings (the "Presidential Decree") has been published in the Official Gazette dated 22 March 2020 and numbered 31076 as part of the Turkish Government's plan to keep the spread of Covid-19 disease at bay.
Accordingly, except for those in relation to alimony receivables, all execution and bankruptcy proceedings shall be suspended in Turkey and no new proceedings can be initiated until 30 April 2020. The suspension also extends to the provisional attachment (ihtiyati haciz) judgments and those will not be enforced until 30 April 2020 as well.
